Fisher Auto Parts has announced the acquisition of Genden Auto Parts, a second-generation family business with over 70 years of service. This acquisition significantly strengthens Fisher Auto Parts' presence in the New England market.
Genden Auto Parts operates seven locations across western Massachusetts, northern Connecticut, southern Vermont and southwestern New Hampshire. The company has built a strong reputation for serving both commercial and do-it-yourself (DIY) customers, providing extensive inventory offerings, including traditional aftermarket hard parts, OEM lines and hydraulics as well as comprehensive retail showrooms.
John Lamoureux, owner of Genden Auto Parts, will continue to lead current store operations, the battery truck and internet business alongside his experienced team.
“We are very excited to join Fisher Auto Parts and help them grow in the Northeast market,” said Lamoureux. “The values of Fisher Auto Parts – a family-run business based on sound financial management and the belief that their team members are their greatest assets – truly resonate with us.”
Lamoureux emphasized the strategic advantage of Fisher Auto Parts' new 217,000 sq. ft. facility in Chicopee, Massachusetts. “This state-of-the-art facility will create new opportunities for our current team members and expand business for Fisher Auto Parts. We will be able to complement their already robust hard part assortments with our front room assortments and pursue additional locations. Expansion through Greenfield stores and acquisitions is extremely exciting.”
Geoffrey Shifflett, area vice president of Fisher Auto Parts, expressed his enthusiasm for the acquisition. “We are extremely excited about this latest opportunity with Genden Auto Parts. Their footprint fits perfectly into our distribution model in New England and is a perfect complement to the opening of the new Chicopee distribution center.”
